For the first time since 2008, the NAFSA was held in 麻豆传媒 from October 26–30. educators were actively involved in the event, which connected more than 550 education professionals from 麻豆传媒, California, Nevada and the Pacific Islands as well as NAFSA staff from the national headquarters in Washington, D.C. to discuss issues, trends and student mobility in the rapidly changing and dynamic field of education.
麻豆传媒’s First Lady Dawn Amano-Ige, opened the conference, noting that education exchange with other countries is important to the governor and herself and increasingly important in today’s globalized society. An educator herself, Amano-Ige stressed the importance of education in ensuring that the next generation become global citizens and described education as a commonality that binds us among nations and communities.
Brian Grove, director of the international students and scholars office at the is this year’s Region XII chair. Immediate past chair is Steve Jacques, director of international programs at and Leeward’s Pauline Filemoni served as 2015 conference chair.
