I totally agree with, George. The abysmal ticket sells are a testament to the �鶹��ýfootball program. There are other schools like UAB in the mainland which had a terribly awful football program like �鶹��ýbefore deciding to eliminate the program altogether in light of the fiscal waste it produced. I read the full report and was not surprised to find that no specific mention of the football program or any other program for that matter was mentioned. Because all programs are referred to by the catchall category “athletics department” the numbers are misleading in the sense that it paints a rosy picture of all programs as positively contributing to the economic vitality of UH. This could be further from the truth. While some programs (e.g., volleyball) perform better than others, the football program is a complete drain on the athletics department given its chronic failures and underperformance. The football department should be axed and the finances redistributed to the students–the majority of whom could care less for �鶹��ýfootball but have to pay for it under the guise of a tuition cost.

Looks like this is the first step from the admin spin machine attempting to justify a huge salary for the new athletics department director. Maybe they should concentrate on education not sports at a University?

If this is true can someone explain why the Athletics department is in so much debit, sinking and drawing money away from education at �鶹��ýManoa? I am very dubious about the claims made here. More spin from the �鶹��ýadmin….
