The University of Âé¶¹´«Ã½ at MānoaÂé¶¹´«Ã½ Athletics Department is a significant part of Âé¶¹´«Ã½’s economy according to a report produced by the . In fiscal year 2013–14, the UH Athletics Department generated $66 million in Âé¶¹´«Ã½ spending on labor, goods and services.

The $66 million in spending in turn generated $128 million in Âé¶¹´«Ã½ business sales and $36.9 million in income for Âé¶¹´«Ã½ workers. In addition, the $66 million of spending added $7 million to the state’s tax collections and created more than 860 jobs in Âé¶¹´«Ã½.

The report was commissioned by the UH Mānoa Athletics Department and prepared by Shidler College of Business Administration graduate students Botir Okhunjanov and Conrad Mostiller, under the direct supervision of Professor of Business Economics Jack Suyderhoud.

In fiscal year 2013–2014, the UH Mānoa Athletics Department’s revenues from tickets and merchandise sales were more than $16 million, which makes the department among the top 215 largest companies in the state of Âé¶¹´«Ã½ by sales revenues. If the UH Mānoa Athletics Department was measured by its total budget, it would be the 155th largest enterprise in the state.
