All island youth may need this type of education because what was considered a pono way of life in the past for our kūpuna, is not being accepted by the youth of today,(sadly), thereby causing the educational system to see the need and create a course to provide those interested and concerned with the tools needed to be self sustainable in many aspects of life. The Hawaiian kanaka was totally self sustainable, with a system that was unbelievable. The Americanization of Hawaiʻi has turned everyone into CHRONIC button pushing, drive-through, microwave, technoholics. Everyone expects someone else to do the work and all they need to do is buy what they want. NO SWEAT OR THINKING involved. Thank you for trying to normalize sustainability in everyoneʻs eyes. It used to be so foreign that only the flower-power,organic people were trying to live naturally. They had the idea, however now is the time to be real and honest and do a good job, maikaʻi loa! I am proud of all of you. As a mother of 9, and tūtū of 16, it is conservation, Sustainability, and basically trying to create miracle recipes with wild pig, cow, sheep, goats and anything from the sea or mountains. We live kanaka, and breathe kanaka. All under the direction of Ke Akua Mana Loa ʻo Iesū.

E HOLOMUA ʻOUKOU I KA NAʻAUAO

HULO!! HULO!!! I AM SO PROUD OF YOU GUYS. I AM SUCH A SUPPORTER OF SELF SUSTAINABILITY IN REGARDS TO FOOD. I am a mother of 9 and a Tūtū of 16 and growing. When we all eat together, Itʻs like lūʻau pan or approx. 10 quarts of food. In that case, I can make food from our homegrown cow, pigs, sheep, goats, vegetables, poi, ulu kalo and such. The food we get from the sea is endless. Our family has farmers and fishermen. I believe that if we mālama Godʻs creation, then we will appreciate what others have done before us as well as try to hone in on SUSTAINABABILITY as our lifestyle and base of food cosumption. As we heartfully dive in to whatever we desire to experience, I can only pray that we, as the Kupuna and adults of today, and parents of the adults of tomorrow, will begin from the soil and become educated about Sustainability with the intent of becoming Intellegent, Educated, Honest Individuals whose lives are evident of a Sutainable foundation with the correct intentions to holomua i ka ʻike Mālama Ola. Iesu pū, aloha.
