For the fourth year in a row, was selected as the in the Honolulu Star-Advertiser released on Sunday, June 22.

Lacro, chancellor of Honolulu Community College.

readers were asked to write in their favorite in 144 categories. Multiple choice options were not provided. Each ballot required 25 categories filled to be deemed valid. Votes were calculated electronically to determine winners—no duplications were allowed, one vote per person, which were also tracked electronically.

“Honolulu Community College has been educating our state’s work force for more than 90 years. What started as a trade school has evolved to become a comprehensive institution of higher learning for 50 years now offering 24 programs, 27 degrees and 39 certificate options,” said Lacro.

Today, with more than 4,300 credit students and nearly 2,000 apprentice students, the main campus is a short distance from the heart of downtown Honolulu, occupying more than 20 acres on Dillingham Boulevard.

The college also has instructional facilities near Honolulu International Airport, heavy equipment shops on Kōkea Street, Kalaeloa Airport and the Marine Education and Training Center at Sand Island.
