The will host , an internationally renowned traveling exhibition of the infant-toddler centers and preschools of the Istituzione Municipality of Reggio Emilia Italy. The exhibit will run July 11–December 7 in the UH West OʻahuLibrary.
The eye-opening exhibit will make its first trip across the Pacific Ocean, and illustrates the acclaimed Reggio Emilia approach to early childhood learning, and the core belief that the child is capable. The exhibit provides a setting to engage in discussion about early childhood education and continue the dialogue about the establishment of a quality early learning system for all of Â鶹´«Ã½’s keiki.
The Wonder of Learning is composed of six thematic areas—introduction, dialogues with places, dialogues with material, ray of light, the enchantment of writing and ideas and projects. These themes are delivered through a sequence of interconnected micro-places that can be viewed separately. The micro-places include seating areas, tables, reference areas, sofas and film areas to allow in-depth views of children’s and teachers’ processes, adults’ roles, working tools and more.
The exhibit is co-sponsored by UH West Oʻahu, Mid-Pacific Institute, the Â鶹´«Ã½ Association of Independent Schools, Kamehameha Schools, the Atherton Foundation, and PATCH. The Wonder of Learning is free and open to the public during .
