As one such “soft money” faculty with a solid track record of innovation as well as extramural funding success ( personally bringing in millions of dollars in peer reviewed grant funding), it is frustrating and painful to see an initiative that does not include addressing this long standing local disparity and appears to focus solely on recruiting “mainland talent”. Â鶹´«Ã½has suffered mightily over the years with the revolving door and golden parachute type hires of mainland talent while the support and development of research programs of  local innovators seems overlooked.
