A new international five-year agreement promotes research collaboration between the University of Âé¶¹´«Ã½ at Mānoa and China’s in various areas of civil and environmental engineering.

“The Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering is ecstatic about our new international collaboration” with Chinese colleagues, said C.S. Papacostas, department chair.

In addition to joint research endeavors, the recently signed memorandum of understanding between the two institutions calls for development of exchange programs for faculty and doctoral students and possible establishment of a new English instruction-based curriculum for Zhejiang.

Ten years older than the University of Âé¶¹´«Ã½ and based in Hangzhou, Zhejiang is a key comprehensive institution offering studies in philosophy, literature, history, education, science, economics, law, management, engineering, agriculture and medicine.

Mānoa’s has expertise in construction management, environmental and water resources engineering and geotechnical, structural and transportation engineering.
