Many years ago (1988)as a teacher at Washington Intermediate School, I had introduced Japanese internment into the curriculum. I had a student teacher at that time, Lillian Yamasaki, who took this unit a step further. She created an entire curriculum that was subsequently printed by the State of Hawai’i Department of Education.
