Internship Description<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The intern will have opportunities to gain practical knowledge and experience in library instruction, tutorial design, assessment, reference, and collection development. Special consideration will be given to LIS students possessing or seeking experience with native Hawaiian constituents \u2013 the Library is working closely with the college\u2019s H\u0101lau \u2018Ike O Pu\u2018uloa<\/a> and the Waianae campus to support native Hawaiian student success.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Library\/Collection Description<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Leeward Community College supports a diverse student body of approximately 7500 students on both its main campus overlooking Pearl Harbor and at a satellite campus on the Waianae Coast. The Library\u2019s General Collection contains approximately 70000 print volumes and more than 80000 ebooks selected to support the college\u2019s associate degree and certificate programs. Smaller specialized collections<\/a> include the Reference, ESL, Hawaiian\/Pacific, and Juvenile collections.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
