
Dr. Konstantinos Zougris is a Professor of Sociology at the Division of Social Sciences at the
University of Hawai’i. His areas of expertise are in Data Science, Hybrid Methodologies, Social
Inequality, Global Comparative Societies, and Sustainable Development with an emphasis on the
United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. Prof. Zougris has served as a Principal Investigator,
Co-Principal Investigator, and Leading Senior Research Scientist in numerous grant-funded
research projects in the areas of disaster preparedness, reentry programs, food systems networks,
sustainable development, social equity, data analytics, and community development. Prof. Zougris’s
publication record consists of journal articles, chapters in edited volumes, and
government/professional reports in the sub-fields of data science and text analytics, hybrid
methodologies, socioeconomic development, social inequality, world systems, sociology of
knowledge, communities of practice, food systems, substance abuse, reentry practices, and
sustainable development. His current research agenda entails work on the development and
implementation of mixed-methodological designs examining issues of global inequality, community
development, and social justice within the context of the United Nations Sustainable Development
Goals.
