Notice: Update Duo Mobile App by Mar 31 (Jan 30 4:45 pm)

Beginning Tuesday, March 31st,  Duo Mobile app users running unsupported versions of the app (earlier than v4.85.0) on their mobile devices may experience issues authenticating using the Duo Push method. This is due to Duo’s certificate authority (CA) expiration.

To help avoid any potential authentication issues, ITS recommends the following:

  • Update the Duo Mobile app to the latest version through the App Store (iOS) or Google Play Store (Android). Duo Mobile is supported on mobile devices running iOS 16 or later or Android 11 or later.
    • .
    • .
    • If you have the Duo Mobile app installed on more than one device (e.g., both a smartphone and a tablet), ensure the app is updated on all devices you have it installed on.
  • If your device is not currently running a supported version of iOS or Android but is capable of updating, please update your device first and then update the Duo Mobile app.
  • If your device cannot be updated to a supported version of iOS or Android, you may continue to authenticate using alternative methods, including manually generated passcodes in the Duo Mobile app, a hardware token, or the “Call me” or “SMS Code” options.

If you need assistance updating the Duo Mobile app or would like more information about other multi-factor authentication options, please contact the ITS Help Desk.
