{"id":9432,"date":"2021-12-29T11:27:32","date_gmt":"2021-12-29T21:27:32","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.hawaii.edu\/issmanoa\/?p=9432"},"modified":"2021-12-29T11:28:47","modified_gmt":"2021-12-29T21:28:47","slug":"proclamation-10315-entry-ban-for-certain-countries-in-southern-africa-to-be-terminated-on-december-31-2021","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.hawaii.edu\/issmanoa\/?p=9432","title":{"rendered":"Proclamation 10315 Entry Ban For Certain Countries in Southern Africa To be Terminated on December 31, 2021."},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.whitehouse.gov\/briefing-room\/presidential-actions\/2021\/11\/26\/a-proclamation-on-suspension-of-entry-as-immigrants-and-nonimmigrants-of-certain-additional-persons-who-pose-a-risk-of-transmitting-coronavirus-disease-2019\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Proclamation 10315<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> suspending entry from Botswana, Eswatini, Lesotho, Malawi, Mozambique, Namibia, South Africa and Zimbabwe will end at <\/span><b>12:01 AM ET on December 31, 2021<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">On December 24, 2021, White House spokesperson <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/KMunoz46\/status\/1474373042000195587?ref_src=twsrc%5Egoogle%7Ctwcamp%5Eserp%7Ctwgr%5Etweet\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Kevin Munoz tweeted<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">&#8220;On Dec. 31,<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/POTUS\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">@POTUS<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> will lift the temporary travel restrictions on Southern Africa countries. This decision was recommended by<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/CDCgov\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">@CDCgov<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. The restrictions gave us time to understand Omicron and we know our existing vaccines work against Omicron, especially boosted.&#8221;\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">However, all non-US citizen travelers will still be required to show proof COVID-19 vaccination status AND a negative COVID-19 test taken no more than one day before traveling to the US.
