On March 22, 2024,\u00a0 the Department of Homeland Security announced the upcoming <\/span>extension and redesignation of Temporary Protected Status (TPS) for Ethiopia<\/span><\/a> for 18 months, from June 13, 2024 to December 12, 2025.<\/span><\/p>\n

Details will be made available in a forthcoming <\/span>Federal Register notice<\/span><\/a> scheduled for publication on April 15, 2024<\/span>. Once released, details will also be available through the <\/span>USCIS official page on Temporary Protected Status<\/span><\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n

Temporary Protected Status can be granted when conditions in a country temporarily prevent that country\u2019s nationals from returning safely. Depending on the situation, students granted TPS may be granted benefits such as travel authorization or employment authorization.<\/span><\/p>\n
