{"id":11794,"date":"2023-05-12T13:43:20","date_gmt":"2023-05-12T23:43:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.hawaii.edu\/issmanoa\/?p=11794"},"modified":"2023-05-12T13:44:00","modified_gmt":"2023-05-12T23:44:00","slug":"covid-19-vaccination-requirements-for-international-travelers-to-the-u-s-via-air-land-or-ferry-entry-ended-on-may-12-2023","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.hawaii.edu\/issmanoa\/?p=11794","title":{"rendered":"COVID-19 Vaccination Requirements for International Travelers to the U.S. via Air, Land or Ferry Entry Ended on May 12, 2023."},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">As of May 12, 2023, nonimmigrant travelers to the U.S. are no longer required to be fully vaccinated with an approved COVID-19 vaccination and provide proof of vaccination before boarding an aircraft bound for the U.S. or before entering the U.S.\u00a0 through land or ferry port of entry.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>End of Vaccination Requirement for International Air Travelers to the U.S.\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.whitehouse.gov\/briefing-room\/presidential-actions\/2023\/05\/09\/a-proclamation-on-revoking-the-air-travel-covid-19-vaccination-requirement\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Presidential Proclamation of May 9, 2023<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Revoking the Air Travel COVID-\u206019 Vaccination Requirement<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, ended the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.whitehouse.gov\/briefing-room\/presidential-actions\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Presidential Proclamation 10294 of October 25, 2021<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Advancing the Safe Resumption of Global Travel During the COVID-19 Pandemic<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. Effective 12AM EDT on May 12, 2023, <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">noncitizen nonimmigrant air passengers will no longer need to show proof of being fully vaccinated with an accepted COVID-19 vaccine to board a flight to the U.S.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>End of Vaccination Requirements for International Travelers to the U.S. Through Land or Ferry Entry\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">From January 22, 2022 through May 11, 2023, all noncitizens who are nonimmigrants had to show proof that they were fully vaccinated with an acceptable COVID-19 vaccine under the same vaccine standards as air travelers. The U.S.-Canada-Mexico COVID restrictions ceased to have effect as of 12AM.
