The University of Hawai\u02bbi<\/span> is committed to respecting and protecting patients’ and clinical research subjects’ rights to maintain the privacy of their health information and ensuring appropriate protection of all Protected Health Information (PHI). The Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) is a federal regulation which describes standards for protecting patient health information.
