The University of Hawaii at Manoa Environmental Health and Safety Office (EHSO) has implemented a new software program designed to improve safety and facilitate regulatory compliance in laboratories at Â鶹´«Ã½Manoa.<\/p>\n
Risk & Safety Solutions incorporates the use of three modules:<\/p>\n
Per the UH\u00a0Chemical Hygiene Plan<\/a>\u00a0and OSHA\/HIOSH, laboratories must evaluate present and potential hazards (physical and chemical) and\u00a0create standard operating procedures (SOPs).\u00a0The LHA is a concise and clear process by which a laboratory’s existing and proposed physical and chemical hazards\u00a0are identified.\u00a0Each laboratory shall complete a LHA<\/b>\u00a0and use it to:<\/p>\n Note:\u00a0The Inspect tool is tied to the LHA and\u00a0will be used for EHSO laboratory inspections. PI’s and their designees will also be able to use Inspect to conduct self-inspections.<\/p>\n Laboratory Hazard Assessment (LHA)<\/p>\n Inspect<\/p>\n\n
