The Hawaiʻi Broadband Working Group, created by the Hawaiʻi Legislature, was tasked with helping determine how public broadband infrastructure assets created by federal broadband spending will be held, managed, and maintained. Updates on current broadband projects were provided and recommendations on the appropriate oversight and maintenance of the State’s broadband infrastructure assets created or acquired as part of the federal broadband grants funds were discussed. Individuals had the opportunity to testify on agenda items.

The Hawaii Broadband Working Group publicly convened to provide information and updates on the Broadband Equity, Access, and Deployment (BEAD) Program, the Coronavirus Capital Projects Fund (CPF), the Digital Equity Act Programs, the Middle Mile Grant Program, and the Tribal Broadband Connectivity (TBC) Program. This meeting was livestreamed on March 30, 2023.

This online public gathering serves as the first of many planned in-person convenings across the islands.
